11 Signs You Are Going Through A Spiritual Awakening

Going through a spiritual awakening can be quite the frightening experience. You may feel like your whole world has been flipped upside down, complete 360 double back flip with a twist. You may even feel like you are going insane.

Keep in mind that you are going to be okay, don’t freak out!

There are many others who live in the exact same world as you that are going through the exact same thing.

So just take a deep breath, relax, and stay positive. The unpleasant symptoms are only temporary. You will be back to your normal self in no time! Well…maybe not your normal self…even better than that, your true self.

You may need to take time away from the world when you are going through the awakening process. It can be hard to function like usual and alone time may be just the remedy you need to get back up to speed.

Here are 11 signs that you might be going through a spiritual awakening

Note: not everyone goes through every single one of these symptoms. However, generally you will go through these 11 signs as you begin to awaken into your true self.

  1. Synchronicity – You start to experience synchronicity – seeing repeating numbers such as 1111, 222, 333 on the norm. This could be anywhere – on your phone, receipts, clocks, etc.
  2. Change in Sleep Patterns – You experience waking up in the middle of the night on a regular basis. This could be at odd times such as 3:33am or 4:44am. You may also need more, or less sleep than usual to feel like your usual self.
  3. Hypersensitivity – You become unable to tolerate things like loud noises and strong smells. Emotionally, you may be a bit unstable. You are likely going to be on a emotional roller coaster. If you are an empath then you will feel the emotions of those around you more intensely.
  4. Change in Perception – Your perception of the world has changed dramatically and you begin seeing the world without a filter. Both the good and bad aspects of the world will become clearer as you gain more and more clarity.
  5. Change in Diet – The food you were eating prior to all of this just doesn’t do it for you anymore. The jack-in-the box you loved so much in the past starts to repulse you. You get stomach aches when you eat too much fatty/processed foods. You start craving healthier foods. Drugs give you a headache, like tobacco or caffeine.
  6. Feeling Good, Feeling Great! – You feel good for a reason you can’t exactly pinpoint. You feel an almost euphoric sensation throughout your entire being. You feel more peaceful and zen than you ever have before.
  7. Dark Night of the Soul – During the very beginning of your spiritual awakening process you may experience an extreme low. This will likely be just about the worst you have ever felt in your life. Everything that you thought couldn’t go wrong…goes wrong. However, keep in mind that this is only temporary.
  8. Intolerance  – You become intolerant towards superficiality and shallow conversations. People who are overly materialistic start to be a major turn off.
  9. Searching For a Purpose – Your curiosity and thirst for knowledge has heightened. You feel like you were meant to do something important with your life. You have a strong sense of urgency to find your true purpose in life.
  10. Freedom Has Arrived! –  You feel like your shackles have finally been torn off and you are free. Your whole body will feel a whole lot lighter.
  11. Seeking Meaning In Your Life – Suddenly, coming home from work and watching TV for 5 hours doesn’t seem so interesting any more. You crave deep conversations and need some real substance in your life.

Again, the negative symptoms are only temporary and everything is going to be okay. Eventually you will feel pure bliss as you become comfortable with yourself and start to accept what is happening to you.

Have you gone through the awakening process?

  1. Great post. Thanks. I’ve been awakening now for about 13 years but recently it’s turned into a tsunami of awakening. I’ve been visited by angels and deep profound healings are taking place within me both emotionally and physically. Manifestations are almost instant and I made my gum regrow through thought alone. And I’m completely all over the place, emotionally. I need to blog all of this and I will do.

  2. Amazing post! thank you for sharing, I often see both in the morning and the evening if I’m awake 11:11. While driving I see my initials in license plates and other signs like this. Every day light orbs follow 🙂 talk about an awakening

  3. Living where you do I’m sure you experienced this as well, the charismatic churches that lure those in, who are really low, due to sickness and / or grief. That’s when I know I’ve had my spiritual awakening, being able to discern between the genuine article and a fake. I’m not opposed to churches, just hate the ones that preach exclusivity, and pick on a group or two (blacks, Jews, Roma, etc).

You asked me earlier if I keep seeing numbers. Sorry, my phone is being a brat, so can’t find the post now. I remember you mentioning the numbers, too. My take on it is, if they show up, and you feel something, go with it. We are pretty intuitive as humans (though some forget), so when you know, you just know.

I got so obsessed with 11:11, I have to try and see it evetybere. Which, I guess, defies the whole purpose of the exercise. 3:33 is another interesting one. That always meant something to me, it was significant. But only in the afternoon. At night it was scary, the hour of ghosts. Turns out I was abducted at precisely that time and murdered in my past life. Of course, if you don’t believe in reincarnation, this all sounds really strange.

    1. Yup, I know just what you’re talking about with the churches, and I’m also disgusted by them. I see…that’s when you knew you had awakened. I’d definitely say that’s a pretty clear sign.

Right, that’s what I’ve been doing a whole lot lately. Having faith in my intuition. I used to doubt it so much in the past but now it feels stronger than ever 🙂

Haha, I might also be a little obsessed honestly. Yea, seeing 3:33 makes me feel good inside for some reason, no matter what hour it is. Abducted and murdered!? Like, that’s pretty interesting if you know exactly how you died in your past life. I’m curious…how do you find that stuff out??

      1. It actually happened in your neck of the woods, in 1968. I always just knew I’d lived then. But I didn’t know who I was. Then, I was looking at a friend’s picture on a mutual friend’s FB profile, and something made me go on a search. An hour or so later I had my name and everything. The friend who led me there, we didn’t even know each other at that point. But when we met four years later, we just immediately clicked. This might sound really arrogant, but there’s only about a handful of people not afraid of the way my mind works. And this friend is one of them.

Just had that crazy idea that keeps popping up from time to time. Want to help me solve the murder? I’ll pm you in that case.

It’s hard to explain how I find out. Saying I just know sounds almost flippant. But some things you really do know. Like wanting to spend the rest of your life with one particular person. Basically, it starts with an inkling. Why do I have this fear? Why do I hate driving through the woods with bearded men? Why do I feel uncomfortable around bearded men? But I’ll forget my friends have beards. Then, if I’m meant to have the information, it’ll come to me. And believe me, sometimes try as I might, I get nothing. The precursor in this case was hearing a cover of Summer Wine. Totally changed my life. I kept saying how I loved the Southern drawl. Mind you, I hadn’t heard the original at this point. But when I did, around three months after hearing the cover, it was there, that Southern drawl. Only then did I realize that the cover had no Southern drawl to it at all.

Well, that’s kind of the tip of the iceberg.

And those fake churches that prey on people’s fears really get to me. Again, I’d use more colorful language, but I might have kids reading this, so I’ll refrain. Sucks when they get to someone close to you. And isn’t it funny how they are a) so intent on getting your money (tithing is such a sweet little system, isn’t it?!), b) are blatantly anti-Semitic, and c) racist. Because Jesus really preached all three. 🙄

I have a lot of respect for true believers, no matter the faith. But the ones I know and am friends with practice what they preach (and don’t preach to begin with), are not judgmental (or don’t try and turn it into a lifestyle), and are really good people. Sorry about the rant. But I tend to be protective of the people I love. So seeing them being used like that, when they turn to God in desperation, it really gets to me.
